Holiday Madness
I’m back “home” for the holiday break and I thought I’d do a brief recap of my time here so far. First of all I’d forgotten how much more pleasant flights from midwest city to midwest city are. I don’t even mind that people seem to instinctively want to talk to me even if I am wearing headphones. On this particular trip I also ran into a high school classmate. Entertainingly he recognized me but I did not recognize him. So it was a little creepy when he just out of the blue looked at me and said, “You’re Sarah right?” The best line from the flight was a child throwing a temper tantrum, “I don’t like you very much Mommy.”
Generally I enjoy visiting the midwest. It’s refreshing to be around people who are generally helpful and will go out of their way to help you if you have a paroblem. However there are some things I don’t like all that much. I wasn’t the biggest fan of that “i <3 the president bumper sticker” i saw on the back of a blue minivan. I dunno. Patriotism is one thing but for goodness sake even my *grandfather* dislikes this president. And I often have a hard time imagining a
more conservative person.
