The weather you say?
I was flying USAir last month. I got to my gate and was happy to find that my flight was on time. Then right as we are supposed to board the gate attendant announces we’re delayed due to weather. Of course half of the flight was already on the phone back home before he even finished his announcement. Almost immediately you could hear a chorus of, “What do you mean there isn’t any weather there?”
Once we got into the air the turbulence was quite eventful.
I learned a valuable lesson. If I ever have to work the gate at a major airport I am keeping a nice unverifiable phrase like there is currently turbulence along the flight path in my coat pocket for such situations.
